My name is Tim and my entire career has been in technology. I’ve worked on video encoding systems, time and attendance, telephone/intercom systems (VOIP and POTS), and I am now the CTO of EtherMetrics.
For fun I snowboard, mountain bike, produce videos, and keep on top of technology. If I had my way I’d use Linux all the time but I’m a realist and have settled on using Windows, Linux, and Mac OS depending on what I need to do.
When it comes to Linux I am a self-proclaimed text-processing and scripting ninja. Anything that involves working with lots of data really draws me in and I’ve been known to write a kernel module or two when the need arises. I am also have a B.S. in Computer Science and I’m a Cloudera Certified Hadoop Developer (CCHD).
You can see what kind of video I’m interested if you check me out on Vimeo. If you want to keep up with me outside of the RSS feed here then you can follow me on Twitter.
